CAMCO was established in March 1983 , setting new standards with its "rental" as well as "production and marketing" departments. As early as 1985 CAMCO presented the LA Series of power amplifiers, to be followed soon after by the first DL Series models-which have meanwhile met with worldwide success. With their rugged design and workmanship and their pro-level features, CAMCO power amps are today among the most popular power amps both in Germany and abroad. Numerous sound reinforcement products have been added to CAMCO's range over the years. More or less "overnight" CAMCO was able to provide a highly professional and attractive range of products fulfilling all requirements users could think of, which was completely in line with the company founder's idea that only those products should be offered that can be used for everyday applications. Even in its early days, when CAMCO ventured its first business steps by providing sound systems for youth discotheques in local municipal halls, the company set the course for a professional and high-competence rental business for audio systems. CAMCO's regional activities grew to become a national and later even international business enterprise. In 1992 CAMCO built its new company headquarters in Wenden-Gerlingen to unite its multi-location business units under one roof with plenty of floor space. In 1996 CAMCO introduced the DX Series of power amps, which met with widespread popularity, in particular, in international markets. In 1997 CAMCO focused its activities on audio systems, and in spring 1999 presented the new digital power amp series " Vortex " at trade fairs in Frankfurt, Rimini and Valencia. The design of these amps was developed in collaboration with English product designer Michael Mailling. In the field of rigging systems CAMCO looks back on a success story that is no less impressive. For more than 10 years now CAMCO has developed trusses, which has resulted in several products lines that offer not only complete sets of accessories but also mobile stage designs (from small cabaret to huge festival stages), trade fair stands and special-purpose designs. Since 1999 the rigging program also includes special models such as speaker towers for major-scale live events. CAMCO's way over the past 16 years has been quite interesting. The company's know-how and products have proven their quality on a pro-level and meanwhile global scale - living up to the slogan "Made in Germany". CAMCO's range of customers includes renowned European rental companies, numerous theater companies and tour organizers, public organizations as well as municipal institutions maintaining concert halls, etc.
